First Term Accomplishments

Was on the team with Jeff King and the Shop Committee to secure new work for the membership.

Advocated for unemployment reform for the state of Ohio with the Governor. Our Benefits Reps. and Sue Rodgers did a great job helping members with their issues!

Bryan Paulson and I joined Senator Brown to advocate for workers rights and healthcare.

Community outreach on behalf of our membership is another accomplishment. Whether building decks with United Way or serving on the Boards of Toledo Technology Academy and Toledo Fair Housing Center I am proud to represent the UAW and Local 14.

We worked with the Lucas County to have Covid Vaccines distributed at Local 12. We called all of our retirees in the area to offer the vaccine. We also secured appointments for all members when their age range was available.

Was elected Chairman of UAW’s GM Sub Council 3. All Powertrain/Propulsion System facilities are in this Council. This helps position us for new work.

Spoke on behalf of all UAW Members in Congress at a Congressional Subcommittee Hearing.

Started a Member Spotlight article to high light our members.

Hosted Senator Brown at UAW Local 14’s Hall to highlight the CHIPS Act. Our members experience helped guide this.

Developed a great working relationship with Jeff King. It is important for the Chairman and President to work together on behalf of the membership. I support Jeff and the Shop Committee.

Toledo Technology Academy was started 25 years ago by Local 14, GM and Toledo Public Schools. We just helped add an Electric Vehicle repair and maintenance program that will start in 2024. This is a big accomplishment to allow people in our community to be a part of the EV future along with our membership.

Started a mentorship program at the MLK Academy. Union Fundamentals are shared with the youth.

Was a litigant in the Fair Maps case for the state of Ohio. We won in the State Supreme Court. Everyone deserves fair voting maps!

Sue Rodgers and I went to the Walter Reuther Library to view our history. As President you are the unofficial historian. This is a role I take great pride in!

Hosted Joe Biden at UAW Local 14. No matter your politics, if we get a chance to host a President we will take it.

I couldn’t imagine being in this position without Sue Rodgers. We are a team! Sue makes the Presidents role much easier with her dedication to the membership. Her tireless dedication is appreciated and recognized!

Jeff King and I negotiated eight hours of union orientation class for new hires. Brian Van Pelt and I provide Union 101 and UAW Core Values for new hires and transfers.

Visited strike lines across the region. Many of the strikes were for other unions in different states. These workers felt the support of the UAW and Local 14

Worked with the Education Committee to start the Oscar Bunch Scholarship. The Education Committee does a great job each year to further the opportunities of our membership!

Without our retirees we wouldn’t be in the fortunate position we’re in! I’m happy to say in three short years we have a very good relationship.

Establishing a great working relationship with Juli is also an accomplishment. Local 14 is lucky to have her! Her institutional knowledge of the Local is invaluable. She has helped me out since my first day in this role and continues to be our rock.
